I keep thinking about, what if the snap™ was more….clean. like, instead of just turning everyone to dust, it just completely erased them?? no accidents or mass panic because people are disintegrating where they stand, just half the population was never born and all traces of their lives go with them. maybe only the avengers remember the snap, know somethings wrong because they’ve all been exposed to the stones before. clint watches his whole family fade away and afterwards he can’t find any pictures of them, can’t even find his daughter’s favorite stuffed animal, his house is just completely empty. steve goes back to that museum and everything about bucky is gone, he can’t even find a trace of winter soldier conspiracies online. no one else has any memory of the accords or the half the avengers going rogue, as wanda was a huge part of the accords getting pushed and she never existed in this post-snap world. shuri was exposed to the mind stone when she was working on vision and now she’s the only one who remembers t’challa. tony gets back to earth and heads straight to may to tell her what happened to peter, only to find a happy and content woman who’s never met him before and assures him she’s never had any children. idk can’t shake the concept.

Has anyone ever thought about how Toph could easily levitate herself in a piece of rock and fly (like Tera from Teen Titans) and use it for the same results as an air suit
this is really interesting to think about - its making me wonder about the various mechanics of earthbending, like when we see people punching rocks at each other it takes muscle in addition to their willpower to send them flying, so that begs the question of how much of the movement of that piece of earth is due to the bender “willing” the rock further, or just the momentum from the initial hit - i imagine it’s a combination of both. For example, if Toph punched a rock forward, I’m not sure that she’d be able to just make it fly forever, because it would take a serious amount of effort to keep the weight of the rock floating after the initial momentum ran out (in a similar way to how it’s easy to hold your arm out parallel to the ground for a minute or so, but would become more strenuous as time went on).
Based on the scenes of Toph holding up Won Shi Tong’s library it seems to me that gravity and physics in general definitely create some limits on earthbending, so I think it would be very difficult for an earthbender to “fly” like that. I think it would be easy for a bender to launch themselves off the ground and then maybe keep the rocks essentially stuck under their feet and levitate further, but I imagine that the strain and concentration needed to continue holding their own weight up off the ground would be very difficult.
I don’t think it would be impossible and if anyone had the strength and willpower to be able to do it it would be Toph
